I’ve read some docs and need clarification.
I want to distribute a mobile app built internally by the company to employees’ personal (unenrolled) devices.
Can I use the Intune wrapping tool to support Intune app protection policies and make it available through the Company Portal app? Or should I publish it on the public stores?
I need to enable the PIN requirement and MFA with Authenticator.

If talking about Android platform, I have the understanding that .apk format is not really used and yes you need to publish your app to the Google store first and then sync it to Intune.

@Dimitrios Gkiokas, Thanks for posting in Q&A. I notice the device is personal device which is not enrolled into Intune. For this situation, we can't deploy app via Intune. Intune can only deploy app to the devices which is enrolled into Intune. If the device model supports Android Enterprise, you can consider enrolled into Intune via Android Enterprise personally owned enrolled method.

For the Android Enterprise enrolled device, we can deploy Managed Google Play private app for an in-house app just as Pavel mentioned. Here is a link with the detailed steps for your reference.

Q1: What is the end user required to do to enroll to Android Enterprise?
A1: When you confirm the device support Android Enterprise, then we can enroll via different methods. For personal device, Before end user do Android enrollment, please ensure Intune admin has Connect your Intune tenant account to your Android Enterprise account. And Intune license has assigned to the end user.
After that, end user can download company portal, sign in to it to enroll the device as Personally owned with work profile.

Q2: Can I use the App Wrapping Tool for Android and iOS to enable app protection policies?
A2: Yes, we can prepare the app for app protection policies with the Intune App Wrapping Tool

Q3: It is a React Native app - do you have any docs around that?
A3: We don't officially support React native app. I don't find any official articles to specifically describe this. For this kind of app, to make it can apply app protection policy, we can try Intune SDK integration with it or using Intune App Wrapping Tool to wrapping it to Intergrated. But the app development platform needs to be supported.
