How can client settings, deployment configurations, or specific SCCM features be adjusted to trigger an immediate evaluation of policies, ensuring that deployments, software updates, and configuration settings are applied promptly post-OS deployment?
Additionally, what best practices or custom scripts can be used to expedite the policy evaluation process and synchronize client settings efficiently, minimizing the time gap between OS deployment completion and policy enforcement? Is there a way to force the SCCM client to download and apply policy during the imaging process?
The recommended way to my knowledge is adjusting the client settings policy. However, the default values are set for a reason with the overall performance in mind. If you are seeing unusual delays in machines not pulling policies, then you may have to do a deep dive. You can initiate pull requests from the clients by leveraging ccm wmi triggers, but I wouldn’t use them as a default solution.

How much of a delay are you seeing? They should download policy fairly shortly after the reboot.
