How to Change the Password for the Messaging System in MSSQL ASPX?

The issue at hand involves a lost database containing millions of data points, with only a ten-year-old backup available. The automatic email sending feature, essential for operations, has stopped working, possibly due to a password mismatch for the backup messaging system. Where can the parameters be found to change the messaging system's password in this context?

Are you talking about SQL server sending such messages, or your code? If SQL server, then I assume that you were/are using the SQL server Agent then? So, you need to setup emails for that database. Might not be passwords, but may well be that you don't have SQL setup and configured to send emails. So, are the database mail extended stored procedures setup and enabled here? So, you need to setup (add) a database mail profile. It's not clear if you have this already? For our web site, we don't use SQL server, but use the .net (smtp) email class. So, it not all that clear if SQL server was being used to send emails. However, if yes, then you need to ensure that SQL server been setup for this purpose.

What is messaging system's password mean? In SQL Server, do you mean sp_password? Something mentioned in this doc: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/relational-databases/system-stored-procedures/sp-password-transact-sql?view=sql-server-ver16#examples
