Impossible to get credit

I want to use OpenAI on my newly created account with my personal email address. Three ways:

  • Free starting credit: impossible to gather as "We’re unable to validate your phone number". I have added it manually through (multiple? why does it not sync everywhere on our account when we enter it once? weird) other ways. But it keeps asking me my phone number and keeps telling me it is unable to contact it, eventhough it has already done so previously.
  • Paying credit (pay as you go): Same issue! Even willing to pay for it I don't care, but it's not letting me do so.
  • School credit: I have entered my school mail address, have received an email on my personal email address telling me that i have been creditted 100$. When i click 'get started' and logg in with either my personal or education email addresses, I get "User account 'XXX' from identity provider 'XXX' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft' and cannot access the application 'XXX'(Azure Portal) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account."

What should i do...?

    Hello Nikita Dmitrieff,

    Thanks for your question.

I would be assisting you with the mutiple issues above. Mainly with phone verification.

For the first issue, If possible, try using a different phone number. We have seen multiple issues with sign up on different posts here.

As an alternative, try signing up using your phone. I have seen this resolve this issue for others.

If that doesn't help you can reach out to billing support. Billing support is completely free, but since you don't have a subscription yet you can dial the global service numbers here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/customer-service-phone-numbers-c0389ade-5640-e588-8b0e-28de8afeb3f2

This also applies to Pay as you go.

For the school credit issue, Ensure that you are using the correct email addresses (both personal and school) and that they are properly linked to your OpenAI account. You should try signing in with a private browser.

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you

    Regards,

    Abiola
