Hi All
Looking for an advisory... I appreciate your valuable comments.

Background:

There is a SCCM environment with 2016 server OS. where co-management is configured. Intune does majority of the work.

since the same environment was migrated from the old server to 2016 and it was very mess up with many other old things. Finally, client looking for a new SCCM instance in 2022. [ Note: they are denying migration of SCCM ]

Task:

All the clients whatever managed by the existing old SCCM environment, should managed with the new SCCM environment without interepting co-management.

Questions:

The task can be possible by uninstalling the existing SCCM client on each client machine and then installing new SCCM instance client agent ( also boundaries and respective discovery need to clear).

Here the main thing is once we uninstall the existing SCCM client from the client. the communication from Intune also halted. so that time can't be managed by Intue as well.

Without interpreting intune communication which the client with co-managed, can be possible with new SCCM instance? Hope is there any migration job for only co-management settings.

So only co-management settings migrate to the new environment, once the SCCM client agent installed, it should communicate with Intune as well with existing co-manage settings(which are the settings migrated). is the scenario possible ?

@Vij, Thanks for posting in Q&A. For the devices which shows ConfigMGR, it means the device still managed by configuration manager. It will affect when old configuration manager is removed. For co-managed device, we can follow the steps in "Option 3 - Move from Configuration Manager to Intune" to make the devices can still be managed when the old Configuration Manager is removed.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/fundamentals/deployment-guide-intune-setup#option-3---move-from-configuration-manager-to-intune

For the registry key, it determines which service is responsible for managing specific workloads on the device. value 1 means Intune is the MDM provider. You can switch the workload via the steps in the above link and see if it is changed.

Please try the above suggestion and if there's any update, feel free to let us know.
