You can add via ADUC to the user account, that should sync. Is that not happening?
How to add The employee's manager to M365 users in Hybrid environment
Hi, we are using supervisor within M365 because of the approval processes in the third party app that we have linked into M365. However, since I set up the synchronization of users from AD to AAD, the ability to add a supervisor from M365 and the AAD console has disappeared. I have tried entering a supervisor within AD, but it does not sync to AAD. The only online console where the option to add a supervisor has not disappeared is in the Exchange console, but when I try to enter a supervisor there I get an error:
Error executing request. An Azure Active Directory call was made to keep object in sync between Azure Active Directory and Exchange Online. However, it failed. Detailed error message: Unable to update the specified properties for on-premises mastered Directory Sync objects or objects currently undergoing migration. DualWrite (Graph) RequestId: e31d2827-885b-499f--850b7e The issue may be transient and please retry a couple of minutes later. If issue persists, please see exception members for more information.
Any advice please.
Thank you

2025-01-24T12:23:55.66+00:00 Hello, I'm a trumpet. I'm in the process of doing a gradual sync of users and didn't realize I didn't have all users synced. So the user I was adding in AD as a supervisor was not yet synced, and therefore logically did not sync to AAD as a supervisor. I tried it with a synchronized user and it works now. It just shows me his hash in the Exchange console, but it's fine in AAD, so hopefully it will work for the third party application. So thanks for the posts and sorry for holding up.
