Can't use gpt-4o 2024-08-06 model in an assistant despite having the correct region

I am trying to use the gpt-4o 2024-08-06 model in an assistant.

I am running this in a hub, project, and resource that are in eastus. According to the documentation this should work: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/openai/concepts/models?tabs=global-standard%2Cstandard-chat-completions#assistants-preview

But I am getting this error:

"This deployment is not compatible with assistant functionality. Please select or create another deployment."

@Williams, Dan , could you please provide more details on your deployment process and the cause of this error to reproduce the same on our end? Have you tried deploying in other supported regions?

Since two of you are experiencing the same, this might be an internal issue with Microsoft. Meanwhile, this is the way out of the issue:

Verify the availability of the GPT-4o 2024-08-06 model in the East US region using the Azure AI Studio or the Azure portal.

Double-check the deployment settings to ensure they are configured for assistant functionality. This includes verifying the model version and deployment type.

Refer to the latest Azure OpenAI documentation to confirm any changes in model deployment requirements and supported regions.

If the model is not available in East US, try deploying in another supported region to see if the issue persists.
