Cannot Launch Studio for Azure Machine Learning Workspace because I don't have access

I am taking Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals class. This is my first time using Azure and I signed up with my @umich.edu email for the free trial. I am in the second module of Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals: AI Overview trying to do the exercise - Explore Automated Machine Learning in Azure Machine Learning. I created a Machine Learning Workspace resource and a resource group like the instructions said. When I click into my resource and hit Launch Studio, I see "You don't have access to this. Your sign-in was successful but you don't have permission to access this resource". This confuses me because I made the resource so shouldn't I have access to it. I also don't have access to https://ml.azure.com which my class says I should be able to navigate to. Any help would be appreciated so I can continue my course!

    Hi Alam, Mayah,

Thank you for contacting us from the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I know that it can be frustrating when trying to access because you are more than ready to continue your training in the class Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals.

It seems that the email address used to sign up for the Azure free trial is @umich.edu, which may have restrictions on it, causing you to not be able to access the Azure Machine Learning Studio. Sometimes, educational institutions have policies in place that may limit access to certain resources.

To troubleshoot this, I would suggest you try the following:
1.Use a Personal Email: Whenever available, sign up for Azure using a personal Outlook or Microsoft account; this usually provides the simplest experience without some of the restrictions that may be present with educational email addresses.

2.Check permissions: If you want to maintain your @umich.edu e-mail account, check that you've set up your permissions appropriately on the resources that you've built. You should be able to check the access control (IAM) settings from the Azure portal to verify that you are operating with the proper role and permissions.

I hope this helps you get back on track with your course! If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to reach out.
