Is SSRS server 2016 unsupported by Operations Manager 2022?

I'm performing a test configuration of System Center Operations Manager 2022 on a system that I prepared with SQL Server 2016. Unfortunately, the SCOM 2022 prerequisite verifier cannot detect the SSRS Server.

    Unfortunately not. As per https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/scom/plan-sqlserver-design?view=sc-om-2025#sql-server-requirements

The following versions of SQL Server Enterprise & Standard Edition are supported for an existing installation of System Center Operations Manager version to host Reporting Server, Operational, Data Warehouse, and ACS database:

    • SQL Server 2022 with a minimum Cumulative Update 11 (CU11) or later update as available here
    • SQL Server 2019 with a minimum Cumulative Update 8 (CU8) or later update as available here
    • SQL Server 2017 with the latest available update as available here

Before upgrading SQL Server, see upgrade information for 2017+ and upgrade information for SQL 2019.

    Hi,

I found a relevant case that discusses the compatibility issues between SQL Server Reporting Services and System Center Operations Manager.

According to Microsoft documentation, SCOM 2022 requires SQL Server 2017 or later for compatibility. This aligns with your experience where the SCOM 2022 prerequisite verifier cannot detect SSRS 2016.

If you need further assistance or have any other questions, feel free to ask!

    Hello,

As Marcin stated, SSRS 2016 is not supported for SCOM 2022.
Also, if you decide to go with SSRS 2022 for SCOM 2022, please make sure you have the proper SSRS version, as some of the SSRS 2022 versions are causing the installation to fail. I recently write a blog entry on this, please go through it:

Error while installing SCOM 2022 Reporting (SSRS 2022)

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Stoyan
