Apply Personal tag to Task folder

There arise situations where we need to apply personal tags to certain default folders to prevent items in those folders from being archived. When it comes to default folders like Calendar and Tasks, we cannot use Outlook or even OWA to apply these personal tags. In this case, we need to use the script provided in the following link to apply the personal tags to those folders.

    Yes, we can apply personal tags in Outlook or OWA for many folders. However, for default folders like Calendar, Drafts, Inbox, Tasks it does not work.
    We can prevent these from being archived by using EWS script as you suggested.
    Another way to achieve this by using Retention Policies. You can create custom retention tags and apply them to specific folders, to prevent from archiving.
