How CMPivot works for Offline devices

I know When I run a CMPivot query, the CMPivot tool will send a query request to the online clients and get the results back from them, so it will show real-time data and report for online clients. But how does CMPivot deal with those offline clients? Does it use the data stored in the SCCM database or wait for the offline clients to go online before processing?

    Hi,

I hope you are doing well.

For the offline clients, CMPivot uses the data that is from the last hardware inventory scan stored in the site database.

Actually, CMPivot immediately returns cached results from the last hardware inventory scan stored in the site database (for both online and offline clients). At the same time, it updates the results if necessary with live data from any online clients.

And also, the color saturation of the data in the results table or chart indicates if the data is live or from the last hardware inventory scan stored in the site database. For example, black is real-time data from an online client whereas grey is cached data.

For more information, please refer to: CMPivot use hardware inventory

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do feel free to contact me.

    Best regards,

    Simon
