FTP or SCP of a file within my app service

I've recently created a Linux App service and have an app running that is writing data to a file.
I can see the file and edit it from the SSH debug window, but I have not been able to SCP the file to my own machine or SFTP the file. I have gotten SFTP working into my deployment slot but that is not what I need. What am I missing?

Are you to trying to FTP to the app service from the local machine?
Could you please elaborate more what exactly you are facing the issue and what you are trying to do? with respective screenshot to understand and assist better.

2024-12-26T23:42:43.7233333+00:00 Thanks for responding, but I think I've figured this out. You can only FTP into the deployment area of an Azure App service....you cannot FTP into the app service compute space itself. (It is not a VM it is an App Service.) I wanted access to a log file I was writing out and I changed the application to write to the regular application log which I can get access to. If this is not correct LMK but I'm pretty sure I'm right after researching this quite a bit.

2024-12-27T09:08:54.41+00:00 @jeff williams Thanks for sharing more details on this. I understand that you have enabled some custom logging in your application, which will be shown in output during runtime and you want to access those logs.
If my understanding is correct, you can enable the diagnostic logging in app service and access the specific logs like webserver logging, application logging, detailed logs etc.,.
Also, you can enable diagnostic settings send the logs to log analytics workspace and query them accordingly.
