Meta data (creation date, modified date, and access date) is not preserved during the migration from Dropbox to SharePoint using the Migration Manager Tool

It is our requirement that all meta data (creation date, modified date, and access date) are preserved during the migration from Dropbox to SharePoint using the SharePoint Migration Manager tooling and I have found that timestamp dates are modified.

Test Example:

Original File on Dropbox (modified timestamp is 2/27/2017)

File after migration (modified timestamp is 12/18/24)

How do you enable Dropbox (the source system) to provide access to this metadata?

How do I enable SharePoint (the destination) to have versioning and metadata support enabled?

    Hi @Noreen Sankbeil ,

    Welcome to Q&A forum!

I'm sorry that you have encountered this problem. I have done a lot of research on this issue. However, since Dropbox is a third-party software, I cannot test it, so the current information may still be insufficient. The official article does not provide detailed information about metadata migration. However, based on the information I have searched, using third-party tools to solve this problem is a relatively simple and efficient way. I suggest you try it.

    non-official, just for reference.

    Good day!
