Windows 11 Home Passwordless - want to remove LOCK option on the power menu
I just purchased a Lenovo Yoga 6 with windows 11 home. I had to set up all the sign in options including pin and 3 security questions (which I did not write down). Then I removed all the signin options and am passwordless by using the registry to make changes. My problem is I still am showing LOCK option on power menu (Lock, Sleep, shut down, restart). I want to remove this option so that we don't accidentally click it and get asked security questions or have the machine lock up. I've tried all the different registry suggestions and its still there. I'd also like to verify my security questions so that I can write them down. Honestly - not to rant - but who would ever buy a new computer? We are old people and don't yet have our degree in IT so this is terribly not user friendly. I consider it like the rest of the world. Don't punish criminals - instead punish the other 99.6% of the population. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For Windows 11 Home users, you might have to upgrade to the Pro edition to access Group Policy Editor or use a third-party tool to enable gpedit.msc in the Home edition. The following steps require Group Policy Editor:
Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Ctrl+Alt+Del Options.
On the right side, double-click on Remove Lock Computer.
Select Enabled to remove the lock option.
Click Apply then OK.
Close Group Policy Editor and restart your computer.
Since you’re using Windows 11 Home, these steps may not be applicable. Instead, you can try searching for third-party software that can help you customize the power menu, but be cautious and only download software from reputable sources.
Recovering Security Questions
The security questions are a backup method to regain access to your account if you forget your password. Unfortunately, Windows does not provide a way to view the answers to your security questions once they have been set up for obvious security reasons. However, you can reset your security questions if you are already logged into the computer.
Here’s how to reset your security questions:
Click on the Start menu and go to Settings.
Navigate to Accounts > Sign-in options.
Under Password, you may see an option to Update your security questions; click on it.
Follow the prompts to reset your security questions.
If you cannot find this option, it may be because you have removed all sign-in options including your password. If you’re still able to log in and out of your account, it may not be a problem for now, but it could become one if you ever need to perform a recovery action.
Best Regards,
