BitLocker Recovery Prompt After Update - Assistance Needed

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue where BitLocker recovery is being required on a device, and I’m trying to understand why. The device recently received update KB5048652, and the recovery prompt started appearing after that.

Is there a way to confirm if this update is the cause of the issue? If not, how can I determine what triggered the recovery requirement? I’d like to identify the root cause before this potentially becomes a widespread issue on other devices with BitLocker configured for TPM-only protection.

For context, we manage our devices through Intune, though I’m not sure if this is relevant to the issue.

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

    Hello

I tried to search "KB5048652 ". It is a security update and it seems there is kown issue related to Bitlocker.

    December 10, 2024—KB5048652 (OS Builds 19044.5247 and 19045.5247) - Microsoft Support

For bitlocker recovery scenario, it may be related to firmware or bios update.

We could check the Event Viewer\Applications and Services\Micorosft\Windows\Bitlocker event log for any useful information.

Or check Event Viewer\Windows Logs\Applicaation, System for any related information.
