Hello

Pleaae i need help on this issue.

I would like to know how to create different views for the library and folders to manage which columns are displayed. But i know it won't prevent a user selecting another view.

Can you please assist with creating a view? I would like to check if this might work for us.

    Hi @IniobongNkanga-8038,

I would recommend you to create different views for library and folders, then set different default view for them. Please refer to following steps

    1. Set the library view as default view when create User's image
    2. Ensure content type management is enabled for the library in Advanced Settings image
    3. Go to the library view we just created in library setting and expand the Folders setting then select ‘Show this view: In the top-level folder’. User's image User's image
    4. Create a new view for folders, and take the following settings User's image User's image

Now we will have two different default views for library and folders

    User's image

Here is a nice artilce for details

This solution does not seem to work for SharePoint Online. The referenced article by Cameron Dwyer was written a decade ago and appears to be outdated. It specifically applies to Classic SharePoint sites and does not support the "New Experience" in SharePoint Online. As Cameron Dwyer noted on April 17, 2020, "This article was written before the modern SharePoint UI was introduced and only works for Classic SharePoint sites. Default views at subfolder levels do not work for modern SharePoint."

I hope this clarification helps anyone who comes across this advice.
