Sole adminstrator for microsoft 365 has died and we need help to promote someonelse in the organization to admin

Question

Our sole admin for our non-profit 365 account has died without leaving us his passwords or promoting someone else to admin.

I need help to make this happen. I cannot get anywhere by calling. The robot lady just hangs up on me and tells me to go online.

When I go online I get caught in and endless loop that tells me that my admin has to ask for help, not me. Kind of impossible when he is no longer on this earth.

The customer support on X has been trying to help but this is their latest suggestion … to post on here. Why they can't have someone call me … I have no idea.

Frustrated beyond belief. Any help appreciated.

Honestly, this issue can't be solved in Q&A forum, because it may need to do some actions in backend.
