Encryption of data storage on device error 2016345612

Hello,

We are using the Windows Security Compliance policy and we are noticing quite a few devices are erroring on the "Encryption of data storage on device" section with the following State details: 2016345612(Syncml(500): the recipient encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request)"

Has anyone encountered this before and if so, would you be able to share any resolutions?

@Dean Egan, Thanks for posting in Q&A. The Encryption of data storage on a device setting generically checks for the presence of encryption on the device, more specifically at the OS drive level. Currently, Intune supports only the encryption check with BitLocker.

Please go to the affected device to see if the drive is encrypted with BitLocker already. If not, please configure BitLocker policy to encrypt it.
