Visual Studio 2022 Analysis Services Extension on Windows 11 ARM64 (Lenovo Snapdragon)

I recently purchased a Lenovo CoPilot+PC ARM64 Snapdragon Windows 11 computer. I keep getting an error when I try to install the Analysis Services Extension for Visual Studio 2022 (Microsoft.DataTools.AnalysisServices.vsix). Is there a workaround to be able to develop Analysis Services Semantic Models using Visual Studio on ARM64 Windows 11 PCs? Or is the Analysis Services Extension incompatible with the new ARM architecture for the foreseeable future?

    Hello @Eric Ziola ,

Thank you for taking time to post this issue in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I don’t get any release/update information about the Microsoft Analysis Services Projects 2022 extension for supporting ARM64.

However, I see some workarounds, you may consider having a try.

For example, Microsoft Analysis Services Projects 2022 Installing issue, kindly try the workaround shared by Julian Lewis.

Besides, did you get this error => "This extension is not installable on any currently installed products"? If so, it means that it doesn’t support the installed VS on your machine. On your side, I believe, it’s VS 2022 ARM version, so, yes.

Or is the Analysis Services Extension incompatible with the new ARM architecture for the foreseeable future?

I believe you have also seen following description, though the date is 4/13/2023:

See Visual Studio on Arm-powered devices => Supported workloads

There is no BI extention listed.
