Unexpected errors for inactive resources

Hi,

I have some testing Computer Vision resources that are not often used. However, I see that there are errors at regular intervals. It is visible in metrics under total errors. Do you have some Health Check requests that could cause it? For some reason it also occurs for Immersive Reader resources.

Best regards,

Martin

    Hi @mm,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum!

The errors you're seeing in Azure Computer Vision and Immersive Reader resources could be caused by Azure's internal health checks or diagnostic processes. Azure periodically runs system checks, which may include health checks on your resources, even if they are not actively in use. These health checks can trigger errors or failures that show up in the resource metrics, particularly if the resources are inactive or haven't been used in a while.

These probes typically assess the availability or responsiveness of services, and while they are designed to be non-intrusive, they may occasionally report issues if the resource is idle for extended periods, causing timeouts or other transient errors.

To confirm if this is the case:

    • Check the time intervals of the errors. If they happen consistently over time, it's likely related to automatic health probes.
    • Review the detailed logs in the Azure Monitor or Application Insights to see if the errors correspond to diagnostic or health check requests.
    • Reach out to Azure Support if the issue persists to verify if any specific health checks are triggering these errors for inactive resources.

    Please look into this:

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.

    Hi @santoshkc

thanks for response. It repeats always at the same time and regularly. The problem is that we have alarms based on these metrics and we would like to avoid false positive alarms.
