Hello Team,

I am planning to use azure lab services for around 10 students and have question regarding the cost.

I wont be using any advanced networking. As per documentation I will need to create LAB Account and then I select instance for example Classroom Small(2 core , 3.5gb RAM) or Classroom Medium(4 core , 7gb RAM) etc. So the question is:

  1. Do I need to deploy dedicated instance for example in this case 10 instances of Classroom Small for 10 students?
  2. If not can I just deploy 1 x Classroom Small and share that with 10 students. In that case how much load a single instance (2 core , 3.5 gb RAM) can take? Also How we will make sure that the users has dedicated environment and not impacting data of other students?

    Hello BHOLA ,

Thank you for reaching out on the Microsoft Q&A .

    AFAIK,

    1. It is highly recommended to set up a separate Classroom Small instance for each of your 10 students. This will help keep things running smoothly, protect their privacy, and provide a better learning experience for everyone.
    2. Sharing a single Classroom Small instance among 10 students is not advisable. A 2-core, 3.5 GB RAM instance is insufficient to handle the workload of 10 concurrent users, leading to performance issues. Plus, keeping each student's data separate in a shared setup is tough and could be risky.

I hope this helps! If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
