This turned out to be an issue with the storage and not related to FSLogix.
FSLogix Gets Disconnected Randomly
Hi All,
We are seeing a strange issue in our VMware Horizon environment with Windows 10 and FSLogix. We are on the latest version of FSLogix (2210 hotfix 4 (2.9.8884.27471) and it was running fine for a month. Without making ANY changes to the environment, we are seeing the below issue for JUST a FEW users.
When the users leave the VM overnight and they login in the morning, they see the below popup:
"dllhost.exe - System Error : The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this application."
All the apps are crashed, and the event logs saw messages like
"An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk5\DR8 during a paging operation."
"{Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file \?\Volume{cf4e55de-87ca-485d-90a8-02bb438484 .. iness1\SyncEngine-2023-06-20.0143.15632.8.aodl. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."
"A users (AccountName: <username>, SID: <SID>) VHD(x) was detached. Attempting to identify and reattach the detached disk.
A VHD(X) was reattached (VHDPath: \<ShareName>\Containers<SID>\Profile_<username>.VHDX, AccountName: <username>, SID: <SID>). The disk detach may have invalidated handles."
Usually this happens overnight, but sometimes this will happen when the users are working. Strangely, this is happening to only a handful of users, though the configuration and file share are exactly the same for all.
We checked our storage, networking, FSlogix file share, ESX hosts etc. with no errors anywhere. Probably the best way is to reach out to Microsoft support, but thought of checking if anyone have any ideas.
