Teams 1.3.00.16851 (64 bits) on Ubuntu 20.04.1
Teams keeps using the microphone after a call is finished, but shouldn't it free the mic automatically as soon as the call is done? The only way I've found to free the mic is closing Teams.

Do you mean microphone cannot be used in other application even you have finished calls in Teams?

What he means to say is,
Once you finish a call on Teams, there is a microphone icon in the taskbar which says "Skype is using the microphone."
basically that microphone icon in taskbar is meant to tell us if any app is accessing the mic.
Teams should stop accessing microphone once the call is finished.
Exactly what @Pankaj Kumar said. Seems like Teams never releases the mic at the end of a call. So when I check the system for who is using the mic, it tells me it's Skype.

Why do we need to vote on a bug? This is a serious bug, not a feature request.
It's just their way of not taking responsibility, keep voting and wasting your time.
They can't even give 1 update in 2 months, what else can we expect ?
If tommorow linux client stops working, they'll be like "Please vote here"

It's especially annoying with a bluetooth headset, as keeping the microphone open keeps the headset in call-mode, which has lower sound quality than headphone-mode, which makes listening to music after the call a bad experience.

Same behavior on Windows! I'm using the Jabra Pro wired/usb headset and it shows that the call is still in progress even after the call is complete/hung-up. I have to completely exit out of Teams to have it reset.

Same issue here. Jabra headset, tried both Link 370 and link 380 dongles. I do not get the mic icon in the bottom right, but closing teams process allows the mic to be returned to normal (off)

I have exact same issue, I have to quit and reopen teams to release de mic I have Jabra Evolve 75 bluetooth headset.
Microsoft Teams Version 1.5.00.36367 (64-bit). It was last updated on 1/18/2023.
I also see that my microphone is kept open after the meeting.
The only way to stop the microphone from recording is to quit Teams and restart it.
This is quite annoying.

It's v1.5.00.10453 and still an issue - see mic icon in the system tray:
Veeeeery annoying. You just have to restart Teams after each call to get sound in headset nice and clear again. If anyone knows better workaround - please share.

this does not happen to me when i call somebody directly e.g. 1 to 1 call from my corporate address book.
this happens to me only after I end meeting call - the one which you start by clicking start the meeting from your calendar.
my work around is: i find conf room user (like a dummy user some conf. room for example CollabComplianceMgr user ) which usually has voicemail setup, so I do not have to call real person to bug them, I will dial that dummy user, and I hang up the call before it is even picked up (answered). that always put my mic into passive mode (not listening anymore) and light on USB dongle from my Jabra headset changes from green to blue again. I do not need to restart teams, but this is annoying anyway to do it after every meeting.

This breaks my use case: headset does not switch to the phone due to Teams hogging the mic.
This makes me restart Teams after every call.
Hard to believe this is a non-intentional bug. This is fishy. Is it recording? How does it respect my privacy?

Same situation on Win 10.
It uses microphone without calls within a day and even with permissions turned off!
