Get Traffic Incidents - How can we get traffic incident alerts for a route without using Routes API

Hi Team,

Good day.

I am here writing to know more about Get Traffic Incidents API https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/bingmaps/rest-services/traffic/get-traffic-incidents
In our application, we are using another routing service app to get commercial truck routes. We get coordinates (lat and long) for every 5 miles, our goal is to find traffic incidents along the route.
But for Get Traffic Incidents API, we need to send mapArea - bounding box coordinates. For testing purpose, I posted following coordinates in the request 33.755598, -84.388519, 41.940869, -87.678932 where 1st part "33.755598, -84.388519" is origin coordinates and 2nd part "41.940869, -87.678932" is destination coordinates. This
is not an bounding box. Still, in response we got around 967 alerts ("estimatedTotal": 967).

  1. How would these above coordinates corresponds in map area? Is this a bounding box or Bing computes route between origin and destination by itself?
  2. If we are not using Bing Route API, how best can we get traffic incidents for a route?

Awaiting your repsonse. Thanks in advance.
