Change username of Microsoft Account

Question

I recently created my first Azure subscription using the Free subscription to get started. I signed up using my existing Microsoft Account. However, this account has also been used to create a free Teams account previously. Upon creation of the Azure subscription it seems my Microsoft Account had already been associated with the domain for the Teams account. Thus, the username of my Microsoft account in my new Azure AD directory list the username of the Teams account Azure AD directory. I have since dissociated my Microsoft Account with that Teams account (including removing it from that Azure AD). Is there a way to change the username in my current Azure AD instance or to re-associate the account so that it now is associated with the proper Azure AD?

Are you talking about the first Global Admin account?

If so, Amanpreet has written an answer to a similar question recently:

As far as I can think of, removing name@Company portal .com shouldn't cause any impact as it is also pointing to the same MSA but I personally haven't tested this scenario. As Microsoft has discontinued support for personal accounts to use custom domains, it is difficult to reproduce this scenario as well. Since this change is irreversible, I would suggest you to use this account to create a new user and assign global admin directory role and also assign owner role over any Azure subscriptions that you have, to make sure you do not lose access to Azure Portal or any resources created underneath your subscriptions if anything goes wrong after removal of the @Company portal .com alias.
