[Windows 10 Home] GPResult with invalid parameter H for Group Policy Report

Hello together,

I'm trying to run a report on Group Policy Objects with Windows 10 Home Version 1909 Systembuild 18363.418. If I type gpresult /H GPReport.html in the CMD as Administrator, the message is: ERROR: Invalid argument/option - '/H'.

When I type gpresult /? for usage, it doesn't show the /H parameter in the list. I get only the parameters S, U, P, Scope, User, R, V and Z.

See screenshot!

If I check other comments in the WWW, I only found some suspicions, that it may something to do with Windows 10 Home. But I am not confident with this, because otherwise there should be more information.

Yesterday I additionally installed the GPO with the "Administrative Templates" version 3.0. But there was no change!

I executed also the System File Checker with the order sfc /scannow, but without new results. The gpresult.exe is not damaged, because it is all the same when I replaced it with an elder file version 10.0.15063.0 (WinBuild.160101.0800) from the internet.

Has anyone an idea for the reason of the error message? Is it associated with Windows 10 Home?

Best regards,

allesgeheim

I have a different Information. Windows 10 Home includes already the Group Policy feature on default installation but it is disabled by default.

No hack is necessary to unlock it with a batch file:

A Windows 10 Home installation includes most if not all the files that are required by the higher versions. Some clever people exploit this fact in order to enable features such as the Group Policy Editor or the Remote Desktop Host. Although this might be achieved with a few commands such as dism.exe, it is still a hack and can result in unexpected behaviour as reported by you.

I think your suspicion is correct. Windows 10 Home does not have the Policy Editor gpedit.msc and it seems the /h option of gpresult is not available either. I checked this on two Win10 PCs - one Professional and one Home.

    Thank you for your effort.

You never use an OS how you install it. Gradually you install different programs, apps and tools. Because the GPO is missing in HOME, I installed it. Since then the tool gpedit.msc is working and I have the tab Security in the Settings of the context menu. Taking ownership of files and folders is possible. Also adjusting permissions of them.

But apparently not everything is working fine. So it would be interesting to know, what prevents, that gpresult works completely.
