Unable to create Entra developer account

Receiving the following message when attempting to create Entra developer account (have attempted over several days). Logged into my company's 365 enterprise tenant. Pretty generic. Has anyone encountered this and have any insights into resolution - short of chasing down support tickets?

We can't continue with the signup process right now due to an internal server error. Please try again later.

Code: 50001

Have tried different browsers, cleared cache, attempted different days and times. Perhaps still on my end but appreciate if anyone has encountered similar issue and steps to resolve.

Thanks.

    Hello @Don Coltrain,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.

Based on your description, The error code 50001 indicates an internal server error, which seems to be affecting multiple users recently. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, old data can cause issues.
    2. Use a different browser: Try signing up using a different browser like Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
    3. Try a different network: Switching to a different internet connection might help.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, please confirm: When signing up for a Microsoft Developer account, are you receiving an OTP on your phone number as expected?

I have attached a screenshot for reference (if applicable).

User's imageIf you are not receiving the OTP, this suggests an issue with phone number validation during the Microsoft Developer Sign-up process. This can typically be resolved by creating a support ticket with our Azure Subscription team.

Since resolving this requires verification of your details, please share the following information via private message (as it contains Personally Identifiable Information - PII):

    • Affected phone number
    • Contact email address

Once received, we can connect offline to discuss the issue further and assist you in resolving it.
