i need to cancel the two step verification authenticator to be able to access my hotmail account

Question

I chose somehow a twostep verification for my hotmail account (******@hotmail.com). to sign in i have to approve the request from the authenticator app. to do so i should add my hotmail account to the authenticator app where i should also sign-in.

signing into the authenticator app is also asking me to approve the request generated in the authenticator app.

i need to cancel this option to be able to access the account and change the settings. i can even keep the twostep verification option when i am signed in because in this case i can add my account to the authenticator app.

please help. j have this e-mail since more than 20 years and i have a lot of paid subscriptions associated with this e-mail.
