Does IoT Edge Runtime can be installed on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Hi Team,

As part of our R&D efforts, we are attempting to install the IoT Edge Runtime on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS using the URL:

https://packages.microsoft.com/config/ubuntu/24.04/packages-microsoft-prod.deb -O packages-microsoft-prod.deb.

The runtime was successfully installed, and the modules were pulled to the host. The IoT Hub connection was established, and data was initially sent to IoT Hub. However, we observed instability, as data is no longer being received at IoT Hub, despite the modules remaining up and running and continuing to send data.

Could someone please assist us in resolving this issue?

Hello Athira Gopinath(UST,IN),

I checked modifying the template from 22.04 to 24.04 as mention in arm template document, It fails with invalid template deployment error- which indicates it might not be supported yet. Please check below official doc on ARM or bicep deployment for reference.

@VSawhney ,Thanks for the response. We are able to install the latest runtime on Ubuntu 22.04 and once it sent the data to IoTHub. But later on it is showing like it is sending to IoTHub successfully but not receiving at IoTHub
