Failure reason: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or establish connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

In status log, dialing vpn connection gel-eastus, status = the same as failure above.

    Hi @Admin Brad Dickerson

As the VPN was working on another device but not on a particular one, remove the VPN connection and manually fill the details instead of exporting the xml file, as shown below.

If you are still facing the issue, you can follow the steps below.

    1. Try resetting an Azure VPN gateway . You can follow the documentation here for more details.
    2. Uninstall the WAN Miniport by navigating to This PC > and selecting "Manage" > Computer Management > click "Device Manager" > Under Network Adapters, uninstall all adapters starting with "WAN Miniport" - Right-click, Uninstall, Once you've uninstalled all the adapters, "Scan for Hardware Changes," and those adapters will reinstall automatically without restarting.

After doing the above settings, try connecting to the VPN from the affected machine.

    1. Also, check if any policy from Intune is blocking the app from connecting to the Azure server.
    2. If the above steps are not helpful, you can enable VPN Diagnostic Logs and check the logs at P2SDiagnosticLog which can help you determine the cause of the VPN connection issue.

I hope this helps to resolve your issue.

Hi, thats classic "I’m trying to connect, but the other end is ghosting me" error. Your VPN is acting like my ex no response, no explanation, just radio silence lol any way ...

This usually means something’s blocking the connection firewall rules, network configs, or maybe the VPN gateway is just having a bad day. Double-check your NSGs, route tables, and make sure the VPN gateway isn’t napping. If all else fails, reboot it (the IT equivalent of "have you tried turning it off and on again?").

If it’s still playing hard to get, raise a ticket with Azure support. They’ll probably tell you to check the same things, but at least you’ll feel like you’ve done your due diligence.

    Cheers!

    Alex
