Copilot says 'Unfortunately, I cant make changes to your document directly' in Word?

Trying to work with Word and Copilot and have asked several questions to add text to Footer etc and the answer is always the same ...'Unfortunately, I cant make changes to your document directly' Is there a setting somewhere I am missing?

Unfortunately, Copilot currently has limitations that prevent it from making these direct changes. This is a known restriction and not something that can be adjusted through settings.

    To provide more context, Copilot is designed to assist with generating text, providing suggestions, and offering guidance, but it does not have the capability to directly modify your document. This means that while Copilot can help you draft content or suggest edits, you will need to manually implement these changes in your document.
