How to know if "view all files" is turned on in solutions explorer

I wasted an hour figuring out that:

ON = TINY SKINNY BOX IS VISIBLE.

OFF = NO SKINNY BOX VISIBLE

Mine was OFF by default. Needless to say I think this is horrendous design. It should be obvious by now (by virture of prevalence) how goofy this setting is.

You are right. A blue/purple box is visible when it’s on, and no blue/purple box is visible when it’s off.

Normally, when you turn it on, some excluded folders/files will be visible, such as bin, obj folders. In a simple solution, this is easy to check. But it’s true that if it’s a complex/big solution, it’s not easy to check.
