Azure Arc - vCenter - template Appliance

Hello

I have added my vCenter to Azure Arc by following this article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-arc/vmware-vsphere/quick-start-connect-vcenter-to-arc-using-script

The installation ended successfully. After the installation I see a new template in vcenter named:
template-appliance-0.1.35.11105-v1.29.4

Is this template needed, or can I delete it?

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, thank you for posting your query here!

During onboarding, to create a connection between your VMware vCenter and Azure, an Azure Arc resource bridge is deployed into your VMware vSphere environment. As the last step, you must delete the resource bridge VM as well the VM template created during the onboarding.

Once that step is done, Arc no longer works on the Azure VMware Solution private cloud. When you delete Arc resources from vCenter Server, it doesn't affect the Azure VMware Solution private cloud for the customer.

Thank you for your fast reply. The article you link to is for 'Remove Arc-enabled Azure VMware Solution vSphere resources from Azure'. It is not what I want. I want to have the connection between vCenter and Arc.

I just wondering about the template the script installed on vCenter. Is it any need for this in the future?

The template-appliance-0.1.35.11105-v1.29.4 in vCenter is a VM template used by Azure Arc during the onboarding process of VMware vSphere VMs. This template is required to deploy the Azure Arc Resource Bridge, which enables management of vSphere VMs through Azure.

Can You Delete It?

If Azure Arc is already deployed and working, you can delete it, but only if you are sure you won’t need to onboard additional VMs.

If you plan to onboard more VMs in the future, keep the template to avoid having to reinstall it.

Thank you. But I dont find any info in the articles, that says that this VM template is needed if I want to add additional VMs in my vcenter?
