Hello
Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.
Here are a few steps you can try:
- Ensure that the driver you are installing is specifically compatible with ARM-based processors. Some drivers may only support x86 or x64 architectures.
- Connect the smart card reader to your device and run Windows Update. Sometimes, Windows Update can find and install the appropriate driver for your device. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Look under Advanced options > Optional updates for any driver updates related to the smart card reader.
- If Windows Update does not find the driver, you can try manually installing the driver. Download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website. Then, in Device Manager, right-click on the smart card reader, select Update driver, and choose Browse my computer for drivers. Navigate to the folder where you downloaded the driver and follow the prompts to install it.
- Try installing the driver in compatibility mode. Right-click on the driver installation file, select Properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for. Select an earlier version of Windows (e.g., Windows 10) and then try installing the driver again.
- If the GEMALTO CT710 is not compatible with ARM-based processors, you might need to consider using a different smart card reader that is known to work with ARM-based Windows 11 devices.
I hope the information above is helpful.
