Keyboard not working

Was just starting to launch a game when it bugged out and I had to restart my laptop. There was an update (24h2) and it wouldn’t let me restart the computer without updating. Prior, the keyboard was working fine, but when it gave me the login page it wasn’t registering any keystrokes at all. As an extra middle finger, I had 3 photos saved on that laptop, including the background and 2 of them are just gone. Since then I’ve tried updating the driver, removing and reinstalling the driver, rolling back the update, clean booting, toggling anything that could interfere with the connection, and just about everything under the sun but nothing has worked. All due respect but why in the sweet hells did windows remove the keyboard troubleshoot? I realize it says it isn’t supported by the new provider but that’s such a low effort excuse over a non-issue. The gods of egregious timing have me in a chokehold because this is all happening a day before the school semester starts so I am desperate for a solution quick.

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Here are some steps you can try to fix your keyboard problem:

    1. Enable On-Screen Keyboard:

    • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and turn on the On-Screen Keyboard. This will help you log in and navigate while troubleshooting.

    1. Run System File Checker:

    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.

    • Type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This will scan and repair any corrupted system files.

    1. Reinstall Keyboard Driver:

    • In Device Manager, right-click your keyboard and select Uninstall device.

    • Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.

    1. Use a Different USB Port or Bluetooth Receiver (if applicable):

    • If you're using an external keyboard, try connecting it to a different USB port or using a different Bluetooth receiver.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
