We have found an issue with failing RDP connections from the Windows App on MacOS 15 computers.

This issue occurs on multiple MacOS 15 devices of various models.

When the computer boots, in the System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, for the Windows App, Local Network is toggled ON. However, when attempting to RDP to a Windows device from the Windows App, the connection fails. The only solution we've found is to return to the Local Network settings and toggle the Windows App OFF then back ON. This then allows successful RDP sessions.

We have submitted a report of this issue to Apple, but will likely not receive a response. We wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and if they've found a solution.

We are looking for a permanent solution to this.

    Hello,

This issue has been occurring since September 2024. Many users have reported similar problems, as seen in the thread: Microsoft Remote Desktop cannot connect to some servers after macOS update to Sequoia 15.0 - Microsoft Q&A. Some users resolved the issue by allowing local network permissions once, which fixed the problem. However, based on your description, it seems the issue's behavior is different now?

Have you upgraded your macOS and Windows app to the latest version?
