Hello,

Since 20/Jan/2025 we've been getting this error on all “non-admin” users, trying to share any document from SharePoint Online Library.

Nothing seems to have been changed in the sharepoint settings and the rights for share links in the administration interface haven't changed either. Since I can't find any article on this error, I'm going to ask the question here.

This error occurs whenever I try to create a share link on a library.

However, my users usually have the right to create share links, so I don't really understand what the problem is.

    Hi @Gerardo Abal Caldelas,

I couldn't reproduce this issue in my environment and form your screenshots, it looks you have all right settings. I think there is something wrong in the backend. It is hard to go on further troubleshooting here. You can create a service request in M365 admin center. MS support can help you check from the backend and help you resolve this issue.

    Thanks.

Did you figure this out or get support to help you? We have a ticket in but getting support to actually get to someone who can see what's going on is a struggle to say the least.

We have the same problem since the same day.

After opening a case with Microsoft Support, they ask me to change some Permision Set Configuration.

On "Read" Permision Set, we have to disable this two characteristics: BrowseDirectories and EnumeratePermissions

After apply, wait almost 1 hour the problem seems to be solved.

If you're using contribute permissions, go to site permissions > permission levels and ensure that the following are checked:

    • Use self service site creation
    • Edit Personal user information

If this doesnt solve the issue I would check the other permission levels, on the site experiencing the issue against either a working sites or against a newly created site
