Application timed out immediately when trying to log in

When i try to log in with any of my mail accounts the microsoft authenticator immediately notifies me that i have run out of time to enter the numeric code in the app forcing me to -Use my password instead-

yet the app in the cellphone stills notifice me of the attempt so it gives me the pop up with the codes to log in but clearly i can't do anything with it
