URLs configured as microsoft edge internet explorer compatibility mode have been deleted after a windows update.

Hello, good afternoon.

We update windows 10 every month after the update at the end of September (we updated on the 22nd) suddenly disappeared from microsoft edge URLs that we had configured to open in internet explorer mode. The option is found in Settings, Default Browser and Internet Explorer Compatibility. I know they expire after 30 days but they had not passed. Apart from this there was also some internet option (inetcpl.cpl) that was set as default. Do you know why this could happen? Does anyone know of similar cases after this update?

In case it helps you the updates installed that day were these: KB5043064, KB890830. We cannot uninstall them for security reasons.

The edge version is the following: Version 131.0.2903.112 (Official build) (64-bit)

I have met the issue before that Windows update will reset the settings in Internet Options. I guess the disappearance of IE mode settings also has something to do with Windows update.

For this situation, we suggest that using GPO to configure the settings so that they won't be reset by Windows update. For how to configure IE mode group policies, you could refer to this document: Configure IE mode policies. For the settings in Internet Options, there also have corresponding group policies you can configure.
