Issue with translator in new Outlook and OWA

Issue Details:

A user reported that access request emails for a personal OneDrive site, sent from SharePoint Online, are arriving in Finnish and are not being translated. Below are the observations and findings:

1. Language Settings Checked:
   • OneDrive language is set to English.
   • Account and system language settings are also set to English.
   • However, the OneDrive site default language remains Finnish. Translation could not be enabled.
2. Translation Behavior:
   • General emails sent in other languages are automatically translated in new Outlook.
   • Emails forwarded to another user are also translated as expected.
   • For access request emails sent by ******@sharepointonline.com, translation does not work in new Outlook or OWA.
   • Translation works as expected in classic Outlook.
3. Testing Conducted:
   1. Confirmed that new Outlook is updated.
   2. Tried switching between old Outlook and new Outlook—no change noticed.
   3. Observed that clicking on the email briefly shows the text transitioning between Finnish and English in new Outlook. However, it still appears as "Translated from English" even though the content remains Finnish.
   4. Sending the same email as an attachment enables translation in new Outlook.
   5. Tested behavior across multiple users; the same issue is consistently observed with OneDrive access request emails.

Summary:

• The issue seems specific to the ******@sharepointonline.com emails sent for OneDrive access requests.
• While classic Outlook's translator is working seamlessly, new Outlook and OWA fail to translate these specific emails, even though other emails are translated without issues.

Please assist in resolving this issue where translator functionality in new Outlook and OWA does not work for SharePoint Online emails sent by ******@sharepointonline.com. The issue affects multiple users and is causing a disruption in the workflow.

I can reproduce the issue in my outlook email notification.

It's by designed that email notification language is set and decided by the site language. There are no settings in the outlook and SharePoint to enable automatically translate.

As a workaround, you could select access request in the email notification, right click, then translate selection to English.
