Hi,
You can create multiple network discovery rules in SCOM, but each management server or gateway server can only run one discovery rule at a time. This means that if you want to create a new discovery rule, you need to ensure that it is assigned to a management server that isn't already running another discovery rule.
To confirm that all existing Network discovery rules have been deleted, you can follow these steps:
- Open the SCOM Console: Launch the Operations Manager console.
- Navigate to Administration: Go to the "Administration" pane.
- Network Management: Under "Administration," expand "Network Management."
- Discovery Rules: Click on "Discovery Rules" to see a list of all existing network discovery rules.
- Delete Rules: If there are any existing rules, right-click on each rule and select "Delete."
Make sure to refresh the list to ensure that all rules have been removed. Once you've confirmed that there are no existing network discovery rules, you can proceed with recreating the new rule.
