part of my document disappeared while typing

I was typing a word document then suddenly part of my document (the line I was typing and some paragraphs before that) disappeared. and when I continue to type, nothing is shown. means I cant type in the rest of my document.

it happened to me before. it happens when my document has more than 100 pages and has many equations and pictures.

my office version is 2021

please help how can I fix it. here is a screenshot of last page

Is it possible that you are typing inside a table cell or a text box with fixed dimensions?

No, the text is not in table or textbox.

As you see in the screenshot, not only the text is disappeared but part of the page is disappeared and you can see the gray area. while usually the gray area in last page is not this big in word.

Switch to Web Layout view. If you can see all the content in that view, select everything except for the final paragraph mark and copy and paste it into a new, blank document. Does that overcome the issue?

P.S. To show/hide paragraph marks (¶) as well as other nonprinting characters, click the ¶ icon on the Home tab.

Yes by copying, the problem will solve. but I have a sample word document that I should type in this file and I don't want to copy the text to other file so I can ensure that every thing is in the initial format. Plus I want to figure out why this happens over and over

Your original document contains damaged structures and those are fixed as you copy into the new, blank document. You may lose more content if you do not use the fix and discard the original doc.

Yes you are right and I have to do so, for now.

But you know it's annoying and I will be grateful if someone can tell the REASON for this problem.

Where are the files saved? Local computer or cloud.

Use "Save as" to save this document as other formats, such as .rtf, check whether the lost part comes back.

Is Office a 2021 volume licensed version? For example, Office Professional Plus 2021?

If yes, please check the box for "Disable hardware graphics acceleration" at File > Options > Advanced > Display section.

Are you using field codes?

Please hit Alt + F9 to switch display modes for a check.

Because your document contains many equations and pictures, the performance may be affected, I suggest you save you document in time when editing.

It's also recommended to split the current document into multiple smaller parts and edit them separately.

Thank you for your answer. I did what you said but none of the solutions helped me.

I realized that only in print layout I can't see the text, but in web layout and read mode the text can be seen.

Files are on local computer. and this problem occurs only in my PC, the file is OK on other devices.

Sorry for bringing you a bad experience. I can understand the nervous feeling when something abbreviated with hard work suddenly disappears.

As Stefan Blom said, your original document contains damaged structures.

To reduce the risk of document structure damage when working in Word, it’s recommended to try following practices to maintain the integrity and stability of your document.

Use Section Breaks for different page layouts

Section breaks allow you to apply different headers, footers, margins, or orientations to different parts of your document.

Regularly save versions or enable AutoRecover.

If something goes wrong, having previous versions of the document can help you recover a more stable version of the structure.

Avoid embedding too many objects

Embedding a large number of objects, especially high-resolution images or videos, can cause document bloating, which may lead to file corruption or poor performance. You may consider using linking or storing externally for some objects.
