Copilot for Edge/Web File Upload Limit (version included in E3/E5 licence - not Copilot for 365)

Hello there,

I was wondering if someone might be able to provide some clarity on this please. Specifically regarding the version of Copilot known as just Copilot, or Copilot for Web, or Copilot for Edge, which is part of an enterprise E3 or E5 Mirosoft 365 account (not a Copilot for 365 licence).

There seems to have been some inconstancy in the file upload size limit to conversations with this version of Copilot. For some time the limit was 1MB. A couple of months ago this appeared to change and I was able to upload files much larger than this to my prompts. This then appeared to revert back to 1MB for a few days and then went back to being able to upload much larger files again. This remained the case for around a couple of months it seems. However, a few days ago I noticed the 1MB upload limit was back again. At no point have I had a Copilot for 365 licence on this account and it was the also the case on accounts on a test tenant which I have access to.

I cannot find documentation on this limitation specifically as most of the documentation appears to relate to Copilot for 365 or Copilot Pro. We have thousands of user and this ambiguity has made user adoption very difficult as we are demonstrating the usage of the product only for it to change again.

I would be interested to hear if others have experiences similar and would be most grateful if Microsoft could provide clarity on what the file upload limit should be.

Many Thanks
