Recently my email account has about 20 failed login attempts every day. This has been occurring for the past month and I am constantly being logged out of my email because of the multiple log in attempts. I changed my password and downloaded the authenticator app however I am wondering if anything else can be done? Or do I just deal with constant login attempts?

    Hi Jayleen,

Thank you for your question! Could you please clarify if you’re using the Outlook desktop app or Outlook on the web?

If you’re using the Outlook desktop app, I recommend signing out and signing back in using a new Outlook profile. You can do this by:

    1. Opening Outlook and navigating to File > Account Settings > Change Profile.
    2. Creating a new Outlook profile and signing in with your usual account.

This should resolve the issue if it’s related to the desktop app.

If you’re using Outlook on the web, I suggest clearing your browser’s cache and browsing history, then closing and reopening the browser before accessing Outlook again.

Please let me know if you need further assistance!

    Hello,

Go through your email account’s security settings to make sure there are no backup emails or phone numbers that you don’t recognize. Remove any outdated or unused linked accounts.

Consider a new email account if the login attempts continue and become too much of a nuisance, you might want to consider creating a new email account with a strong, unique password and enhanced security measures from the start.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
