AVD Client Stuck at Initiating Remote Connection

Using Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5247

Installed AVD 1.2.5716

No VPN Running

DNS set to 1.1.1.1

Running Microsoft Windows Security

I previously used the Azure Preview App successfully until Microsoft removed it in favor of Windows App at the end of November. I installed Windows App and unfortunately my organization is not allowing that app. I installed AVD client 1.2.5716 and it is stuck at "Initiating Remote Connection" without throwing an error message after 4 minutes. Unfortunately, upgrading to Win 11 on this machine is not possible.

I've reloaded the OS several times with the same behavior. I've tried 1.2.5713 with the same behavior. I saw the post on Win 11 22H2 being stuck and tried adding the Registry UDP without success. I tried dropping the Firewall without success. I saw a Reddit post on Win 10 stuck at initiating remote connection and they suggested the same Registry UDP add, but that doesn't work.

Thoughts/Suggestions??

Are you able to connect to your AVD VM from another client or with web client ? Did you check the status of the AVD session host ?

For Windows, you still should be able to use the MSI installer here if that is an option: Get started with the Remote Desktop client for Azure Virtual Desktop | Microsoft Learn

I am able to connect with the web client but there are some known enterprise limitations. I have tried the MSI for versions 1.2.576 and 1.2.5713 from that link you provided with the behavior I described above. What host status are you looking for? How do I connect?
