Standalone Media Task Sequence Fails at Domain Join Step

Hi everyone,

I am encountering an issue with SCCM when using standalone media for OS deployment. Here's the situation:

• PXE Deployment: All task sequences run perfectly fine when using PXE boot.
• Standalone Media Deployment: When deploying using standalone media, the task sequence fails at the domain join step.

What I’ve Checked:

• Network Connectivity: At the time of the failure, I verified that the machine can communicate with both the domain controller (DC) and the SCCM server without any issues.
• Media Content: The standalone media was generated successfully, and I made sure to include all necessary drivers and the network configuration.

Despite this, the task sequence fails to join the domain.

Questions:

1. Are there specific configurations required for domain join when using standalone media that differ from PXE deployments?
2. Could this be related to missing permissions or configurations in the task sequence for standalone media?
3. Any additional troubleshooting steps I should take to pinpoint the issue?

I’d greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions to resolve this problem.

According to the log, does the account have enough permission to join domain? And make sure the domain is correct in your configuration. Have we tried to manually join domain with the settings configured in your task sequence?

Also, we may check domain join log (c:\windows\debug\netsetup.log) to get more details.
