According to the Doc:IUpdate2::CopyToCache
IUpdate2::CopyToCache only works if the provided files are an exact match for the files that Windows Update would have normally downloaded on that computer.
Could you please tell us what do you mean "this method no longer works"? What is the error code returned by the function?

The error returned: interface not registered

under Windows 11, it started to stop working since September
If the COM standard marshaler can’t find a proxy/stub factory for an interface, it returns the error REGDB_E_IIDNOTREG (Interface not registered).

This script works very well under Windows 10, no longer works under Windows 11.
Copytcache is the cause of the problem.
to launch it:

:"C:\cache" folder contains the files mentioned in "downloadurl"
I specify that to do a correct test the PC must have an update pending.
According to your description, the issue is that the Copytcache does not work on win11. I suggest you could post the issue to the Feedback hub for better help. That's the best place to report on this kind of API not working due to the windows version.

I was wrong, the problem only concerns Windows 11 24h2

It doesn't mention copytocache but I hope that's where the problem comes from.
I confirm that once kb5048667 is installed manually with the msu, copytocache seems to work correctly again.
On the other hand, Microsoft continues to currently provide an ISO online that contains the bug, which is a shame...
