A blank project created in Visual Studio 2022 using .NET 9 UWP generates a build error: Microsoft.UI.Xaml.Markup.winmd cannot be referenced. Referencing a Windows Metadata component directly when targeting .NET 5 or higher is not supported. For more information, see https://aka.ms/netsdk1130

Check out this blog about Modernize your UWP app with preview UWP support for .NET 9 and Native AOT(https://devblogs.microsoft.com/ifdef-windows/preview-uwp-support-for-dotnet-9-native-aot/).

Install the .net 9 uwp project template VSIX mentioned in the blog.

Open visual studio 2022, choose to create a new project, search for uwp, and select "Blank UWP App (Preview for .NET 9)".

Open the project, build solution, and then a build error occurs.

Hello @Singh Wong ,

I can reproduce the same behavior. I suggest you report this issue below the blog. This is a new thing and there will be many deficiencies.
