Dell R720XD

1 SSD Raid 0 ( shows correctly works correctly )

2 4Tb Spinners in Raid 1 ( where my issue is )

Windows Server 2025 ( I know its not officially supported so dont bother )

Alright so to the issue now.
I installed windows server 2025 onto my dell R720XD Because in a few months im getting a R640 to replace this and I just want to migrate everything over with minimal downtime thats why its installed.

My Issue is this,
Raid 0 ( SSD ) is showing and working correctly in windows, ( no issue )

Raid 1 ( 2x 4Tb spinners ) is showing in windows as 2 Separate 2TB Drives even though this is a hardware raid 1 and is supposed to be showing as 1 4Tb drive. but further more on this, I can only setup and initialize 1 2Tb drive in disk management, and only 1- 2Tb

The Raid Controller Shows everything correctly ( iirc its the h710 )

1 SSD Raid 0

2 Drives Raid 1 4Tb total Storage

With windows server 22 I didn't have this issue but the drives were also configured in raid 0 same as the SSD Raid.

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Here are some steps and considerations to help troubleshoot:

    1. Ensure that your RAID controller is correctly configured for RAID 1 correctly.
    2. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your RAID controller.
    3. Check your BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure that the RAID mode is enabled and correctly configured. Sometimes, settings can revert or change, causing the RAID array to be misrecognized.
    4. In Disk Management, if the drives are showing up as separate, it might indicate an issue with the RAID array itself. You might need to reinitialize the RAID array through the RAID controller's management interface.
    5. Ensure that your Windows Server 2025 is fully updated.
    6. If the above steps don't work, you might need to back up your data and rebuild the RAID array. This can often resolve issues where the RAID configuration has become corrupted.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
