From what I've seen, you need to purchase Windows Pro Workstation from the Micrsoft Store using a personal account. I'm currently waiting for support for support to help with my activation issue. But my situation is just creating more questions.
- My MS365 premium plan includes Windows Business edition, which automatically activates windows with that digital license.
- I have not been able to get the key I received for Workstation edition to properly activate with this conflict, which I'm currently waiting on support for.
The question I have, is from a management standpoint.
- How is a business and its IT department/MSP supposed to support/ purchase Workstation edition licensing when personal accounts are required. Having to manage personal accounts on top of work accounts is a pain! Is it available through volume licensing? I don't see any option for workstation as a cloud license.
- What workaround or solution, if any. Is available to exclude a digital license in MS365 from a specific device so you don't have to disable the license feature from the users account?
It's possible I've run into a bug with the Windows 11 24H2 release, but if not, I really don't understand how anyone in a business environment reasonably manages licensing for the workstation edition of Windows.
